Good stuff on the itinerary

Mark and I looked over the itinerary last night. More than a week just in Jerusalem! Sounds like a lot, but we'll see. It's because of World Pride activities. Maybe we'll sneak away to Tel Aviv an extra night somewhere.

Stuff on the itinerary that I'm looking forward to:

More than anything I want to see Petra, in Jordan.

Sunrise climb to Masada--er, if I can get out of bed.

Walking the rooftops in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Yad Vashem, a Holocaust memorial and museum that sounds deeply moving.

Day of Politics: Har Homa, Gilo, the Security Fence, with study seminar on the political complexities of recent years.

Study tour with the New Israel Fund, visiting some of their social justice projects in Jerusalem.

The World Pride March

The World Pride Beach Party in Tel Aviv!!! (I'll tremble before G-d in my own way, thanks.)

Not on the itinerary: I'd really like to see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. And maybe a traditional hammam, but I bet there aren't any left in the places we're going.
