I am confused: are we supposed to look at the beautiful man in the sweater or the books to the right of his head? At least he's not moving.
This is beautiful blog -- I will look forward to following along with your travels--we went to many of the same places, including Masada and Petra 8 years ago--but not with the emotion-political-religious persepctive that you will get. Food recommendations: There is a resturant in East Jerusalem--in a very interesting PAlestian neighborhood called Philadelphiâ that's wonderful. In dowtown Jerusalem, there is, or was, a restaurant called the Jerusalem Artichoke that has all kinds of things wrapped in different leaves that's' also fabulous.
Bethlehem is pretty amazing place to visit to if you can. It's like a flea market of different religious sects there-
